Amaechi/Jonathan Drama: Court Orders Police To Vacate Obior/ Akpor Council

Rotimi-AmaechThe police have been ordered by a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt to vacate Obior/ Akpor council of Rivers State.

The court gave the directive on Monday morning.

Information Nigeria reports that the occupation of the Obior/Akpor council by the police was described by Speaker of the Rivers Assembly – Rt. Hon. Otelemaba D. Amachree as the first in a series of plots by the Federal Government to declare a State of Emergency in the state.

The Assembly, loyal to the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, suspended the council chairman and appointed a caretaker committee; while the Peoples Democratic Party Chairman – Chief Felix Obuah, loyal to the presidency, condemned the suspension and instead suspended 27 out of the 32 state lawmakers.

Its good judgement the police will always stand by the rule of law,but the police will not pull out entirely,but the gates will be opened for people to go about their businesses while the police will still remain there and maintain law and order to avoid desperate politicians for causing trouble,like the bomb threat.
