Anambra Guber Poll: Ezeemo’s Refusal To Step Down For Ngige Forces APC To Fix Primaries For September

APC-NgigeDespite the unanimous decision of leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to endorse Senator Chris Ngige as the party’s consensus candidate in the November 16 Anambra governorship election, primaries will still hold between Ngige and Chief Godwin Ezeemo, who has resisted all entreaties to step down for the Senator.

Information Nigeria recalled that Ngige was announced as APC consensus candidate last week by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State following the stepping down of Senator Annie Okonkwo. But Ezeemo had insisted on the conduct of a primary rejecting the adoption of a consensus arrangement.

One of the aspirants Hygers Igwebuike, however, resigned his membership of the party leaving the two political gladiators to slug it out.

The interim national publicity secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, confirmed that the party will be holding primaries in September, but said no specific date has been fixed.

He also said the two aspirants will soon be screened before the conduct of the party’s primaries.

  1. Dr. Chris Ngige is the only man that is capable of carrying the Anambrians along from where Mr. Peter Obi will stop. My comment is based on Ngige’s leadership antecedent when he was a governor in Anambra state -He has been tested and has been provened. He broke an agreement at the expense of his life, because of his love to serve his people. He has a servant heart. In fact, i declared him unopposed. Olofu Chris Ify(P.H)

I declare him unoppose in the forth coming election, both in the primary and general elections.
