Mobil Picks Seven Top Nigerian Coaches For Schools’ Athletic Programme.

Mobil Producing Nigeria, sponsors of this weekend’s athletics holiday training programme for schools in Akwa Ibom State, have appointed seven top Nigerian coaches to serve as instructors for the event.

Newly elected President of the Track and Field Coaches Association of Nigeria, Gabriel Okon, who was part of the selection process, described the coaches as “the best that you can think of today in Nigeria.”

Those selected includes Lukas Ogunjimi, a professor of human kinetics and health education. A specialist in athletics training and health education and also, the first Nigerian to obtain the Area Technical Official (ATO) License of the IAAF. He is currently a Technical Officials Training Consultant of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria.

Oladimeji Sule is a national triple jump champion in 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997 and 1998, who will take care of the jumps. He actively competed in Nigeria and Africa between 1990 and 1996. He is the head coach of Nigeria Immigration Service.

Others includes: Ken Onuaguluchi (throws expert), Armelia Edet (women coach) Utit Ofon Nkantah (kids coach), Solomon Abari (Atlanta 1996 4×400 relay team coach) and Nuhu Stephen (distance specialist).

All the invited coaches are to assemble in Calabar on Sunday August 11 preparatory to the competition that kicks-off Monday, August 12 through to August 24.
