The deal is thought to be worth €200,000, which Panathinaikos have promised to pay Dolphins in the coming days.

Ajagun scored three goals for Nigeria at the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey as the coach John Sam Obuh-led boys advanced into the round of 16 before losing 2-1 to South Americans Uruguay in June.

Following his performance at the tournament, several clubs from Turkey and Croatia were linked with the 20-year-old Lagos-born footballer before he decided to join Panathinaikos.

Negotiation for the attacking midfielder was prolonged for days whilst Pana insisted on an exhaustive medical for the former U-17 footballer.

Ajagun played 40 minutes for his new side in a test game against the Panathinaikos U-21 side on Monday.
