Reuben, Aluko and Lukman Set for Super Eagles Recall.

Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi, is considering recalling Gabriel Reuben, Sone Aluko and Lukman Haruna for next month’s friendly against Italy at Craven Cottage, London.

Former Nigeria U-17, U-20 and U-23 youth footballer Haruna has been in fine form for his Ukrainian club, Dynamo Kyiv, averaging a goal per game so far this season. He last played for Nigeria at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Reuben is believed to be close to match fitness since he has had to struggle with a long-term groin injury. The defensive midfielder, who established himself as a key member of the coach Keshi’s new look Eagles has since moved to Scottish club Kilmarnock.

Keshi said: “In every department of the eagles, we need competition and we need players who can bring that competition. If Lukman is doing well, we will bring him in. We have people like Reuben and Sone Aluko, who are doing well too, so why not? We will bring all of them in, they are all Nigerians and they want to play and it’s a blessing for me and for the team.”

Hull City forward Aluko was called up by Keshi at the start of his tenure and has capped twice for Nigeria, dropped out of selection for the 2013 African Cup of Nations due to injury.

He has been in terrific form for the newly-promoted Premier League outfit, scoring a stunning volley in their 3-2 League Cup victory over Newcastle last month.
