Robin van Persie and Nemanja Vidic will miss Manchester United’s Champions League match against Bayern Leverkusen on Wednesday.
Midfielder Marouane Fellaini will not be included in David Moyes’ lineup due to suspension.
Both Van Persie and Vidic missed the 2-2 draw against Cardiff in Wales last Sunday due to injury and neither have flown with the team to Germany on Tuesday.
“They are both injured,” Moyes said. “Nemanja Vidic had concussion and Robin has a problem with his groin.
“Neither of them are long-term but they are not quite ready yet.”
The Premier League champions go into Wednesday’s encounter with a ten-game unbeaten run. Englishman Wayne Rooney will once again be the main force upfront against the second-placed Bundesliga outfit.
Leverkusen are four points behind leaders Bayern Munich, and have recorded eight consecutive home victories in the Champions League group stages.
