It seems that Snoop smokes so much, in fact, that when he lit up in his Australian hotel room on Thursday night, enough smoke was created that firefighters rushed to investigate.

According to TMZ, police say “smoke from an unidentified source” triggered a fire alarm around 10 a.m., and firefighters who happened to be at the hotel rushed up to the room to investigate. They quickly discovered there was smoke but no fire. (Officials did not confirm if it was weed was involved.)

After it was established that there was no fire in the room, the rapper snapped some photos with the firefighters, which he posted to his Instagram account, captioned, “Fire dept Shut it down !!”

Metropolitan fire brigade firefighters Trevor Bowen, Owen Sullivan and James Kemp were called to a Melbourne hotel about 10am local time on Friday for a false alarm.

While they were there, smoke in a different room caused a second false alarm.

“It was pretty funny,” senior station officer Bowen said. “We had a brush with Mr Snoop himself.
“He asked us for a photo because he said he always wanted to be a firefighter.”

The crew obliged and Snoop Dogg, also known as Snoop Lion, then posted the pictures on his Instagram account. The pictures have received more than 20,000 likes.

Bowen described the rapper and his entourage as a friendly bunch. “If you didn’t know who they were you would just think they were very friendly, ordinary people.

“It was an amazing chance encounter, which would probably be one of the highlights of my 26 years with the MFB.”

There was no fire in Snoop Dogg’s room and the brigade would not comment on what caused the smoke that set off the alarm.

On Tuesday the rapper posted pictures of himself on Instagram apparently smoking marijuana in a Gold Coast hotel.

Snoop is performing at the Big Day Out music festival in Melbourne.

Bowen sent pictures of himself posing with the rapper to his three children aged 12, 14 and 21, who are big Snoop Dogg fans.

“My 21-year-old sent me a photo saying is this photo real or a set-up?” Bowen said. “He couldn’t believe it.”
