Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed, has decried recent media reports that the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan was secretly flown out of the country to Germany for medical treatment, saying no one should play God.

Mohammed, who spoke on Sunday in Abuja, when President Gooduck Jonathan’s wife paid him a condolence visit over the death of his brother, Malam Yusuf Mohammed, described the report as malicious.

“We want to dispute media reports that you are sick and rushed abroad, but here you are resplendent and beautiful.

“We wish to tell the ‘Judases’ that they are not God and that anybody can fall sick”.

He said that Mrs Jonathan’s support to her husband, the nation and vulnerable women, was important, noting that she had a “positive impact on our lives”.

Exolling the virtues of his late brother, the FCT minister said that he was a technocrat, who lived a life worthy of emulation.

“He served as a teacher, administrator; he trained me and brought me to a level where we can relate with people of integrity and pedigree”, he said.

Condoling with the minister earlier, Mrs. Jonathan said that the death of Malam Mohammed was a loss to the government and people of Bauchi State, as he was a well-respected community leader in the state.

“It is quite sad, but we can’t question God. He gives and takes, but we can pray that his soul should rest in perfect peace and may God raise another person to fill his gap.

“He was a humble and quiet man in whom his people had trust while he served the government of the state”, the First Lady added.
