After years of brainstorming on how to end insurgency in Nigeria’s North-east, the House of Representatives has finally come up with what they believe is the solution to the menace of terrorism in the region.

The House urged President Goodluck Jonathan to immediately relocate the headquarters of the Nigerian Army to Maiduguri, Borno State as they see it as a way of curbing the series of attacks resulting in many deaths in the State recently.

The lawmakers resolved that this action would enable the Chief of Army Staff to be in touch with the reality of the situation and motivate him to devise ways of properly tackling the matter.

The reps also appealed to the Federal Government to explore bilateral security arrangements with its neighbours Chad, Niger Republic and Cameroon on how to tackle the activities of the insurgents around the border areas.

  1. The best solution to the boko haram is for the FG to declare yobe, borno and adamawa states a militarized zone just as we had troops and armours everywhere in the igboland during the civil war. Thats the answer.
