Tambuwal To Be Turbaned By Sultan Of Sokoto

Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon Aminu Tambuwal will on Saturday be conferred with the traditional title of Mutwallen Sokoto by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III.

Head of the national orgaanising committee of the ceremony, Senantor Bukola Saraki said arrangements have been concluded to ensure a successful event.

“Nigerians from all walks of life are, therefore, invited to grace the event where the rich cultural heritage of the people of Sokoto and the Caliphate will be showcased,” Saraki said in a statement released by Tambuwal’s special adviser on media and public affairs, Mallam Imam Imam.

Dignitaries from within and outside the country are expected to grace the occasion, the statement added.

Among dignitaries invited for the turbanning ceremony are include former Nigerian leaders, state governors, traditional rulers and members of the organised private sector.

President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to be the special guest of honour.
