Nigeria could have been hit with a fresh injury concern as midfielder Raheem Lawal failed to finish the Super Eagles’ training session on Thursday morning.
The African champions, who are already without Babatunde Michael and are sweating on the fitness of goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, are due for an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Congo on Saturday.
According to AfricanFootball.com observers, the Turkey-based midfielder, who started last month’s 3-1 win over Sudan in Abuja, had an icepack around his left thigh which suggests he may have suffered hamstring problem in training.
The nature of Raheem’s injury has not been ascertained.
Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi has recovered from a minor knee injury.
