QPR Relegated to Championship after Heavy Defeat at Man City

Queens Park Rangers are relegated to the Championship after a suffering a 6-0 mauling at Manchester City on Sunday.

Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick to take his tally to 25- his highest ever haul in a single Premier League season- as Manchester City guaranteed a top four placement.

The London visitors needed to win every of their remaining three matches to stand a chance of scraping through relegation, but put up a tame and disoriented performance at the Etihad stadium.

Leroy Fer’s cheeky lob over Joe Hart bounced off the crossbar, the closest QPR came to scoring on a very disappointing day, though striker Charlie Austin had an effort chalked off for offside in the first half.

Aguero needed just four minutes to open his account for the day when he ran through the R’s defense and chipped the ball over goalkeeper Robert Green.

Chris Ramsey’s men could hardly resist the home side’s offensive as the Argentine won a free-kick and Aleksandar Kolarov curled into Green’s corner, after which the floodgates opened in the second half.

A defensive blunder saw Aguero dispossess Yun Suk-Young and race through on goal before slotting home calmly. David Silva won a penalty and the Argentine converted to round off his treble.

Aguero then turned provider for Milner to tap in from close range before Silva dazzled into the area, rounded Green to complete a huge defeat.

Substitute Wilfried Bony hit the post and was also denied by Green who put up a late show to avoid further danger.

The victory saw City move three points clear of third-placed Arsenal, who have two games in hand, and 12 points above sixth-placed Liverpool who are up against champions Chelsea in the other game of the day.
