We’re Not Leaving An Empty Treasury Behind In Katsina – Shema

Ibrahim-ShemaGovernor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State said on Monday that his administration would not leave behind an empty treasury.

The governor made this known at a luncheon to mark the successful end of his tenure.

According to Shema, many other states were in financial difficulties but Katsina had been able to achieve many feats due to diligent resource management.

He added that his administration was leaving behind a lasting legacy that would stand the test of time.

“We have recorded tremendous successes in works, agriculture, housing and health among others”, he said.

Shema stressed that all the successes were achieved without borrowing, therefore, Katsina is debt-free.

“In other states, there are fears that out-going governments will leave behind empty treasuries and incoming governments will inherit debts. But in Katsina, we are not leave an empty treasury”, he said, adding that his administration had stopped the award of contracts since last month.
