A loud explosion has been heard around a crowded commercial area in Maiduguri, Borno state capital.
PREMIUM TIMES reports suggest the loud explosion was as a result of a bomb blast along the popular Baga Road area of Maiduguri.
A source who was at the area said, “It occurred very close to one Maikore Oil filling station here in Baga Road. I can’t give any detail because we are all running as soldiers near the area are busy shooting in the air. But the spot at which it occurred was usually very crowded”.

There was no comment on casualties.
The blast is the third to have taken place in Maiduguri since Friday when Muhammadu Buhari took over as Nigerian president.
On Tuesday, scores were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up at an abattoir.
