Ahead of the recruitment of 10,000 personnel into the Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase warned on Friday that no officer should influence the exercise in favour of any candidate.
Arase gave the warning while speaking through the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7, Abuja, Mr. Bala Nassarawa, during a tour of the Niger State Police Command.
According to him, the recruitment would start soonest across the police formations in the country.
Arase said, “We are going to conduct a transparent recruitment and anyone caught using money to influence our decision will be dealt with.
“Nigerian public should also beware because this time around, it is going to be tough. So, nobody should try to influence the recruitment”.
The IGP, however, commended officers and men of the Niger State Police Command for reducing crimes to the barest minimum in the state.
He also charged them to maintain the tempo and improve on their performances, asking the Area Commander and Divisional Police Officers attached to the command to assist the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abubakar Marafa, to succeed.
We pray that they do as they say so that all the candidates who may apply for it may be selected based on merit
I pray that the Police should do so as soon as possible to help some of us who do not have a job in Jesus name… Aman
