The recently-constituted Presidential Committee on the North East Intervention (PCNI), next Tuesday in Maiduguri, Borno State, will present its brief on the North East Marshall Plan at a stakeholders forum organized by the National Emergency Agency (NEMA) and Office of the Vice President.

Among others, the committee is to ensure that all stakeholders in humanitarian emergency relief and socio-economic assistance in the North-East key into the plan, which is designed to ensure streamlined and well-mapped out interventions.

The spokesperson for the Presidential Initiative for the North East (PINE), Odutayo Oluseyi, in a statement on Friday, quoted the vice chairman of PCNI and chairman of PINE, Prof. Soji Adelaja, as saying a web-based Data Management System has been developed by PINE (www.pinedata.org.ng).

“This online dashboard will serve the purpose of mapping all activities of our stakeholders through a GIS display system which displays real time data of interventions. All stakeholders of the region, particularly NGOs and INGOs, will be required to upload their programs/activities to this portal”, he stated.

Adelaja further disclosed that a component of the Marshall Plan provides a 12-month programme through which NGOs and INGOs intervening in the North-east would benefit from a grant system aimed at increasing the positive impact of NGO activities in the region.

The PCNI, under the leadership of former Defence Minister, General T. Y Danjuma (rtd) will also present the master plan to the world at a global conference scheduled for the first week of December.
