Jigawa To Distribute Sunscreen Creams To 150 Albinos

Jigawa-StateThe Jigawa State Rehabilitation Board on Wednesday said it had concluded arrangements to procure and distribute sunscreen creams to 150 albinos in the state.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Ibrahim Rabakaya, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Dutse.

Mr. Rabakaya said the sunscreen cream would be provided to protect the albinos from sun rays so as to avoid skin diseases.

He explained that the gesture was also to improve the wellbeing of persons with albinism in the state.

“The sunscreen cream and other consumables will be provided to the albinos in order to protect them from rays of the sun, so as to avoid skin diseases.

“It is also a deliberate attempt to improve the socio-economic wellbeing of persons with albinism”, he said.

The executive secretary said the board had also trained albinos in various trades under its skills acquisition programmes to enable them be self-reliant.

He noted that the gesture was to encourage albinos to set up their businesses and contribute to the socio-economic development of the society.
