A New York woman is facing criminal charges for allegedly tattooing the hands of her two young sons. According to a statement from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Chantilly Thomas is not licensed to tattoo anyone in New York State.
Still, they allege the 34-year-old Frewsburg mom “did personally use a tattoo gun to permanently tattoo her own two juvenile sons’ hands,” the statement asserts. Police began investigating Thomas on Dec. 31, after receiving a call requesting a welfare check of her two sons, ages 12 and 13.
The statement says a brief investigation revealed that in late November 2015, Thomas tattooed the words “Ride or Die” on the back of her 12-year-old’s hand while etching a lightning bolt onto the back of her 13-year-old’s hand.
Thomas has been charged with unlawfully dealing with a child. She was released with a ticket to appear in court later this month. Court records do not indicate if she has hired an attorney.
