Governor Rauf Aregbesola of yesterday described the action of striking doctors in the state as selfish in the face of the present economic hardship in the country.
He spoke at a lecture titled: “To the improved health of the people” at the launch of new equipment for Boripe Local Government Health Centres at Boripe Local Government Secretariat in Iragbiji.
Gov. Aregbesola pleaded with the striking doctors to recognise that the state is in a very special time of serious economic challenge and they should be willing to sacrifice like other workers who are at their duty posts.
The governor, however, held that government despite the great financial challenges, has given the welfare of the people priority.
He also said it was high time that all realised that Osun State is in a special period where sacrifices must be made.
