“If there is anytime the church needs to come together, it’s now, this is the time the church needs to be knitted together,” he said.

He enjoined Christians to demonstrate true love in their daily lives towards ensuring peaceful coexistence of the people of the country.

According to the CAN President, who was represented by the association’s Director of National Issues, Mr Sunday Oibie, there is no better time for the church to pray for the country than now.

He adjudged the election of the Niger chapter officers to be the best so far in the country.

“This is the best elections of CAN so far conducted across the country, before now, the elections of CAN have the capacity to tear the church apart.

“But God in His infinite mercy has been helping us to conduct the elections without any problem.

“To avoid unnecessary petitions and court cases, we have made it compulsory for the national body to be fully involved in all state elections,” he said.

He advised the new executive to embrace forgiveness and live in the love of Jesus Christ.
