FG Alerts Parents To Existence Of ISIS Indoctrination Mobile App Targeting Children

Lai MohammedThe Federal Government has alerted Nigerians to the existence of a newly-launched mobile application developed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) for propagating jihad to children.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who raised the alarm in a statement in Abuja on Thursday, said the mobile application, tagged “Huroof” (Arabic alphabets or letters), is to be used by the terrorist sect to teach children the Arabic alphabets with the aid of guns, military tanks and cannons.
ISIS has been known to indoctrinate children and even used them in propaganda footages.
Explaining how the Mobile App is deployed by ISIS, Mr. Mohammed, in the statement issued by his spokesperson, Segun Adeyemi, said it “utilizes colourful illustrations that attract and engage the attention of young children”.
The statement, therefore, urged members of the public in general and parents in particular, to be vigilant and to prevent their children and wards from being indoctrinated.
