Ondo 2016: Mimiko’s Former Commissioners Pick Forms From Sheriff-Led PDP

PDPTwo ex-commissioners, who served under Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, Sola Ebiseni and Bamiduro Dada, have picked their governorship nomination forms ahead of the November 26, election in the state.

Ebiseni, a former Commissioner for Environment and Dada, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, obtained their forms separately from the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday.

They were both received by the factional state PDP Chairman, Mr. Biyi Poroye and other executive members at their Secretariat in Akure, the state capital.

Dada, who arrived at the Secretariat, earlier before his counterpart, said he decided to pick the form to take his destiny in his hand.

The aspirant, who claimed that he was in the governorship race not to spite his former boss – Gov. Mimiko – said he is following what he called “the proper path”.

According to him, “we are going the way of liberation and democracy. The step we have taken today is a very bold one. What encouraged me is what the people said about me in town.

“Mimiko is my leader and my father and I am grateful to him. The step I have taken today is not to reduce his authority, but only following the proper path”.

“It is a divine project. I have nothing against the central. If the central senatorial district should consider anyone, it should be me. I have been in Akure for 25 years”, he added.

Also, Ebiseni described himself as the most experienced among all the aspirants jostling to clinch the PDP ticket.

He noted that he was on a mission to rescue the party from dictatorship and return it to the people.

“I am here with foremost mission of rescuing the party from dictatorship and return it to the people.

“So, many things are happening in the state but the truth of the matter is that Senator Sheriff is the authentic chairman.

“I challenged every member to bring out their membership card and let us see who sign it?

“Ondo State needs redemption. Someone who does not know the state cannot rule the state. I am not anybody’s Tomboy”.

In his remarks, Poroye said no amount of conventions conducted by the Senator Ahmed Markaffi-led caretaker committee would stop Sheriff from being the PDP National Chairman.
