President Muhammadu Buhari will depart Abuja later today for his hometown of Daura, Katsina State to join other Muslims for this year’s Eid-el-Kabir prayers, Information Nigeria has learnt.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, declared Monday Eid-el-Kabir day.
It was learnt that ahead of the president’s visit to his hometown, his advance team, comprising security details, protocol officials and journalists, are already in Katsina.
Mr. Buhari is expected to travel after observing the Juma’at prayers at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa mosque on Friday.
