Troops Kill 5 Militants In Imo

The Nigerian Army troops operating in the oil rich communities of Awara/Assa in Ohaji/Egbema local government area of Imo State said they have killed five suspected militants after a gun battle on Saturday

The task force reportedly entered the crisis-ridden communities in disguise and engaged the militants that has been terrorizing the areas in heavy gun fight which led to the killing of several of them while many were wounded

According to the Army, many of the militants escaped including their leader identified as ‘Banga’, whose house was raised down by the security operatives.

Spokesman of the Imo State Police Command, DSP Andrew Enwerem confirmed the presence of the security operatives in the communities.
