John Legend and daughter Luna rehearse for Oscars

American multiple-award winning artiste John Legend geared up for the Oscars with the help of his daughter Luna on Thursday.

The 38-year-old singer practised songs from La La Land for his performance at the 2017 Academy Awards with his 10-month-old daughter by his side.

“Practicing for La La with Luna,” he captioned a photo of himself at the piano with his Oscar and 10 Grammy awards in the background.

Legend, who played Keith in La La Land, will perform the movie’s songs “City of Stars” and “Audition (The Fools Who Dream),” which are both nominated for Best Original Song. The film is up for 12 other awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for Damien Chazelle, Best Actor for Ryan Gosling and Best Actress for Emma Stone.

“It’s been incredible,” the singer told Newsweek. “I feel so happy for Damien because this has been his vision for a long time — to see it come to fruition and for him to have done it so beautifully, and at such a young age, is incredible.”

“The reason the film is getting all this recognition is because people love it,” he added. “This movie is making people feel good in a time where a lot of other things aren’t making people feel good.”
