Buhari appoints new High Commissioner to South Africa

President Muhammadu Buhari has today appointed Mr. Kabiru Bala as the new High Commissioner to South Africa, with simultaneous accreditation to Lesotho and Swaziland. Bala was the Deputy High Commissioner to the UK before assuming his new role Bala joined the foreign service in 1999 and also served in counties like; Brazil, The Gambia, Netherlands, Sudan and Thailand.

Earlier in his career, he served in the State House of the Chief of Staff to the president. In a statement released by Sarah Sanda, the Special Assistant on Media to Foreigh Affairs Ministers, Geoffrey Onyeama, said this on Monday in Abuja. She stated that the minister presented a letter of credence to the new High Commissioner on Monday.
