The majority leader of the Senate 8th Assembly, Senator Ahmed Lawan has had meeting with APC governors to drum up support for to become the Senate President in the 9th Assembly.
This meeting is believed to be as a result of purported reports that Senator Ali Ndume and Senator Danjuma Goje are now working together in order to stop Lawan from becoming the Senate President.
Lawan reportedly met with four state governors, the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, who is also a senator-elect; Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe State, who is a Senator-elect and his Adamawa State counterpart, Mohammed Bindow.
The agenda of the meeting is believed to be on how to drum up support for Lawan in the Governors Forum.
