The media industry has lost one of its own as a report has confirmed that veteran Nigerian sports journalist and retired Director of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Akinloye Oyebanji, is dead.
According to reports, Oyebanji died at the age of 62.

Oyebanji’s family, confirming his death, said he passed on at the National Hospital, Abuja, on Saturday, July 27th morning after a protracted battle with heart failure.
He was reportedly ill for almost four months before he passed on.
Late Oyebanji was with NTA for 35 years and retired as the Managing Director of NTA Properties at the authority’s headquarters in Abuja. He is survived by four children and a wife.
