Insecurity: Wole Soyinka Calls For State Of Emergency In South West

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has lamented over the spate of insecurity challenges across Nigeria.

Soyinka emphasized on the need to declare a state of emergency across the South West Region of the country.

According to the elder statesman who made the call while fielding questions from journalists in Akure, the Ondo state capital, there are many directions of security lapses within the country, especially in Ondo State.

His words: 

“As regards the insecurity in the south-west, there is an emergency.” There should be a declaration of security emergency throughout the land and measures taken accordingly ”

“There are many directions of security lapses, you know it here, especially in Ondo state, it is a calamity throughout the whole nation. There is an emergency.
