Diamond League: Tobi Amusan Wins in Zurich, Sets Another Record

World record holder and Nigerian sprinter Tobi Amusan has won the Women’s 100 meters hurdles at the 2022 Diamond League in Zurich.

Tobi won the trophy on Thursday evening after reaching the finish line in 12.29 seconds to successfully defend her Diamond League title.

Tia Jones of the USA came second in 12.40 seconds while Jamaica’s Britany Anderson finished third.

The Nigerian won the Diamond League trophy last year in 12.42 seconds. She also set an African record. Tobi has been in fine form in the past years.

In July, Amusan ran 12.12 seconds in the semi-finals at the World Athletic Championship and broke the hurdles record.

Tobi, last month, won the gold medal in the Women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Birmingham.

Amusan is the first and only Nigerian to be crowned African, Commonwealth, and World champion in the same year.
