Ogun State government has pledged to ensure that all defilers are brought to book, warning those with similar intention to desist from the criminal act or face the full wrath of the law, following the incessant r*ping of minors.

The state government however begged the media to continue to protect the identity of rape victims in their reportage, saying that, their exposure would affect them in the future.

Stating this during a press conference in Abeokuta, State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Elizabeth Sonubi described the development as unfortunate.

In reaction to the recent alleged defiling of two minors at the Light of Hope Orphanage, Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of the state, Sonubi explained that the state government returned the affected girls to the home on their request.

The commissioner stated that the state government was not taking side on the issue, but said “we are not taking sides on the issue, but we are concerned about their welfare and future and that was why we allowed them to return to the orphanage”.
