The Kogi State Directorate of National Orientation Agency (NOA), has called on Nigerians to demonstrate absolute patriotism, commitment to the unity and peace of the country in 2015 and beyond.
The call was contained in a press statement signed by the State Director of NOA, Chief Ibikunle Medubi, and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Saturday.
Medubi said year 2015 requires the patriotism of every Nigerian especially as the country marches towards the general elections.
According to the statement, the agency envisaged economic challenges with the recent global fall in oil prices, urging Nigerians to work with and support the government to address these challenges to enable it move the country forward.
The statement added that challenges are part of nation building and national development and that no country has ever attained development without facing one challenge or the other, stressing that what is important is the attitude of citizens towards the challenges.
The agency also appealed to those seeking elective positions to streamline their campaign on issues rather than embark on character assassination or divisive campaigns that will heat up the polity unnecessarily.
