UTME Candidate Arrested For Attempting To Upgrade JAMB Score From 162 to 206

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board have arrested a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)  candidate, Cletus Kokowa, for allegedly paying a fraudster to upgrade his JAMB score from 162 to 206.

The candidate, Cletus kokowa, claimed he paid N10,000 to a syndicate who promised to help him upgrade his score.

The syndicate later sent him a fake result showing his score has been changed to 206.

The candidate, with registration number 95329290ED, from Bayelsa, went ahead to complain at the JAMB office regarding his result.

He confessed to have paid a syndicate to help him upgrade his score.

He said:

Those guys sent a mail to me that they could help me to upgrade my score. I then sent them my Registration number and e-mail. When the results were out and I checked, they showed me 206. Then, one of them called me asking me to pay them the money”.

The boy was afterwards handed over to the NSCDC officers.

JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, said the board would ensure the arrest and prosecution of candidates discovered to be involved in fraudulent practices before, during, and after the examination.
