Reactions As Adamu Garba Advocates for University Of Nigeria To Be Renamed After Queen Elizabeth

Nigerians have expressed their displeasure with former senator Adamu Garba of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for advocating for Queen Elizabeth to be immortalized at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

The lawmaker has received harsh criticism and anger for his remarks.

At the Balmoral Estate in Scotland, Queen Elizabeth II passed away yesterday, September 8, 2022.

Queen Elizabeth II passed away at 96, yet many people were shocked to learn of her passing when Buckingham Palace issued an official announcement.

Following the sad news, photos of the late Queen have taken over the internet, with many sharing heartwarming tributes to mark the monarch’s legacies.

Adamu demanded that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka be renamed in her honor after the late Queen.

Adamu stated that he would declare three days of national mourning for her and rename University of Nigeria to Queen Elizabeth University of Nigeria if he were president of Nigeria.

He stated the University of Nigeria is the first university in Nigeria while giving explanations.
